Curriculum and activity planning

The brief

Introduce young learners to a broad digital world through things they can try, build and explain. The programme brings together technological foundations, creative work and responsible participation online.

The design challenge is scope: learners encounter several unfamiliar subjects in a short course. Practical tasks make each topic concrete, from identifying computer components to creating a personal website and a small interactive game.

Four units, one learning journey

01Computers & internet · 3Hardware, software, networks, digital identity and safe searching.
02AI · 4Examples, data and a short experiment in how computers learn.
03Website creation · 5Plan and build a personal Wix website, with pages, text, images and links.
04Coding · 3Visual challenges with algorithms, loops and conditions; create a small game.

The syllabus allocates 3 + 4 + 5 + 3 units of time. It describes 15 one-hour meetings, while the table labels the allocation as academic hours. Session duration should be aligned before delivery.

Design decisions

DecisionWhy it matters
Use concrete tasksComponent identification, an AI experiment and website creation connect new terms to something observable.
Combine individual and group workPersonal making and shared discussion support both exploration and explaining decisions.
Connect making with responsibilitySafe searching, digital identity and discussion of AI benefits and risks sit alongside creative tasks.
Evaluation & next steps

The supplied syllabus specifies activities and intended outputs; it does not include learner results or a formal assessment rubric. A useful next iteration would add a short entry task and an end-of-unit check: explain a safe search choice, describe the AI experiment, test a website link and correct a coding sequence.

These checks are proposed improvements, not activities claimed to have been delivered. The source provided for Fit is Hebrew.
